Micro/Nano New Energy Materials & Devices Institute

Release time:2016-04-19

As the traditional energy source, fossil fuel is non-renewable, non-sustainable, nor environmental-friendly. Renewable and clean energies are the clear path to a more civilized future. Micro/Nano New Energy Materials & Devices Institute was founded by Low Carbon Energy Institute in 2005. We mainly focus on the researches of next-generation high-efficient solar cells and the lithium secondary batteries with high performance. Currently, we have 4 full-time research scientists, tens of graduate students, and more than 10 funding grants from National Natural Science Foundation of China, Natural Science Foundation of Jiangsu Province, etc.

Our researches are mainly focused on the following areas: (1) theory of semiconductor quantum-dot solar cells; (2) novel quantum-dot solar cell materials and devices; (3) narrow band, multi-band and intermediate band absorption materials fabrication and characterization; (4) high capacity and long cycle life Li-S and Li-O2 batteries.
